For Pure Essential Oils
- Keep essential oils away from children and pets.
- For external use only. Never take essential oils internally unless
prescribed by a medically qualified aromatherapist or under the direct supervision of your doctor.
- Do not apply oils to the skin undiluted. The only exception is spot
application of one drop of lavender or tea tree oils using a cotton swab for stings, pimples, or cuts.
- Do not rub your eyes after using essential oils; if oil get in the
eye, rinse at once with cool water. If a burning sensation occurs seek medical advice.
- During pregnancy, consult a doctor or qualified aromatherapist since some oils
should be avoided; use low dilutions (1% or less) of gentle oils such as chamomile, citrus oils, frankincense, geranium,
lavender, sandalwood, and rose.
- If you have high blood pressure or epilepsy, consult a doctor before using essential
oils; check the warnings of each before use, because some essential oils are stimulants.
- Use only recommended oils for young children in extremely low dilutions, and consult
a qualified aromatherapist.
- For sensitive skin, use well-diluted oils (1%).
- Citrus oils increase sensitivity to the sun, so avoid sun and
sunlamps for six hours after use.
- If taking homeopathic medicine, consult a homeopath before using
essential oils; oils may reduce effectiveness.
- Avoid prolonged use of the same essential oils.
